The championship gets underway Thursday 6th March with scrutineering and official practice ahead of the Calcutta later that evening.

Racing will be held over Friday 7th March & Saturday 8th March 2014 with the WA drivers considered amongst the favourites to win the championship.

Bunbury’s Brad Blake has won the National Championship four times previously and has shown a lot of car speed in his Bunbury Honda & Kia Mastersbilt this season in the Pro Dirt Series.  The “O Show” will be confident of a strong showing this weekend as he looks to add title number five to his trophy cabinet.

Craig Vosbergen has dominated proceedings in Western Australia this season aboard his W8 Racin Tyres & Accessories Rocket. Apart from the WA State Title, Vosbergen has been the form driver at every race meeting this season and is no stranger to winning big events on the East Coast with a number of feature race wins on that side of the country.

Another driver who has won the Australian Championship before is third generation speedway driver Brad Ludlow. Brad will make the long haul to Mount Gambier with his father Ben Ludlow aboard their Di Candilo Steel City backed entries and will be hoping to find some luck after having no luck so far this season.

The Oldfield brothers, Warren & Jason Oldfield will be contenders to be on the podium in this weekend”s Australian Championship with Warren finishing third in last years title in Bunbury. Warren is also a former WA Champion, with his older brother Jason performing brilliantly in the recent USA Invasion Tour held in Western Australia where he was very consistent over the three night series.

The Ozmine Racing BWRC W91 of Michael Holmes will be confident of continuing his strong run in recent Australian Championship, finishing in the top five the last three years including a third place finish in 2012 in Sydney.

Craig Greentree is the last of the Western Australia’s heading to Mount Gambier and will be looking forward to the challenge of racing against Australia’s best Late Model drivers in W13 Rocket Chassis.
