We’re Back!

After thirty-five long days the Late Model Pro Dirt Series will finally return to the Perth Motorplex this Saturday night!

In what will be the tenth round of the Pro Dirt Series, proudly presented by the team at @ABN Trade Mates, a solid twenty-five nominations have been received as every driver fights to get the advantage ahead of the upcoming WA Title next month.

Coming into the show Warren Oldfield enjoys a fifty four point lead in the overall series standings. Despite not yet claiming a feature race win this season, Oldfield has been the model of consistency, six podium finishes to his name, nine top fives and ten top tens… from ten nights of racing!

Despite this, Warren will not be content to rest on his laurels and will be out on track fighting for nothing less than the win, something that if he can achieve will extend his Perth Motorplex winning streak to thirteen seasons in a row, not to mention his thirtieth Pro Dirt Series feature race win.

Joe Chalmers is next best, with five podium finishes, seven top five’s and nine top ten’s here in WA, something he will be keen to add to this Saturday night. He will also be looking to close the gap on Oldfield in his quest for his first Pro Dirt Series and if recent form is anything to go on, he is sure to be a real threat.

Jamie Oldfield holds down third overall, just four points behind Chalmers having claimed two wins, a total of three podiums, six top five’s and seven top tens. After a racing trip down to Tasmania recently, Oldfield has reset and is ready to fire once again, starting this Saturday night.

Rounding out the top five coming into this weekend is Jason Oldfield and Ken Macpherson. Jason has a win, four podiums, seven top five’s and eight top tens, while Kenny has a podium, two top fives and seven top ten finishes. Oldfield has spent the time off prepping his machinery to be back in tip top form, while Macpherson is set to be driving the 15k car out of the Oldfield stable this weekend as he too looks to bag some more points towards series glory.

Jay Cardy, Chris Barrow, Brent Vosbergen, Luke Halliday and Michael Holmes round out the top ten at this point, and with a bit of luck will be looking to move themselves further up the rankings as we get closer to the business end of the season.

Add in the GOAT Brad Blake who is always a threat, Red Hot Roni McCann fresh off an impressive Victorian campaign, interstate visitor Bruce Mackenzie, last start Late Model Nationals winner Rod Musarra and the exciting Nylander boys amongst many others and this weekend is going to be a lung buster!

The 2023/24 Wild West Showdown is proudly supported by Maddington Toyota & CanningVale Toyota, ABN Trade Mates, McPhee Freight, Heatleys Safety & Industrial, Ross’s Auctioneers & Valuers, SupaFit Seat Covers, The Event Mill, Wilson Brewing Company and Dirt Track Nutters.
