This January the USA will invade Western Australia with 4 of their fastest and most lethal missiles.  4 of Uncle Sam’s Best Dirt Late Model Sedan pilots are planning on annihilating the local competition.

The vital statistics of the invading party are as follows:

John Blankenship #23, 32 from Williamson, West Virginia, 10 years experience in Late Models

Biggest Wins – 2013 World 100 $46,000 (the Biggest race in the USA), 2013 $20,000 Bad Boy 98.

Australian Weaponry: 2012 Rocket,  430 Cubic Inch for Team Vosbergen Racing

Notes:  John is having a stand out season and arguably at the height of his career – not only has he won the biggest race in the USA he is also sitting 3rd in the Lucas Oils Dirt Late Model Series

Steve Casebolt # 9c, 35 from Richmond Indiana, 20 years experience in Modified and Late Models

Biggest Wins – 2007 Dream $100,000 (richest race in the USA) Several Lucas Oils Round wins

Australian Weaponry: 2011 Matersbilt with a 430 Cubic Inch SB2 power plant for Peter Macpherson.

Notes: The fact That Steve has not followed one of the national touring series this year does not mean that he has raced any less. To date Casebolt has competed in 44 nights racing for 3 wins and 16 top 5 finishes.  He will also have the added benefit of Mastersbilt Owners Tader & Jerilyn Masters on tour with him to assist with set up.

Steve Francis #15, 46 from Ashland Kentucky 31 Years experience in late models.

Biggest Wins 1999 World 100, 1999 Dirt Track World Championship, 2007 World of Outlaws Series Campion.

Australian Weaponry. 2012 Barry Wright ,440 Cubic inch Estes power plant for Ozmine Racing.

Notes:  As the eldest member of the USA assault Francis has been there and done that including racing in Australia many times where last summer he was undefeated in 8 nights of racing.  Although he is having another fantastic season (currently 2nd in the Lucas Oils Late model series) he will be hard pressed to repeat his down under dominance considering the calibre of the rest on the invaders.

Jeremy Payne #74, 28 from Tucson Arizona, 12 years experience in Modified and late models

Biggest Wins: 2005 $20,000 Modified Victory Clinton Ok, Clean sweep of the 2012 3 night Royal Purple Raceway Modified event.

Notes:  Switches regularly between Modified and late model duties – currently leading the points of the central division of the USMTS for Modified, Has 10 Features wins from 43 starts in 2013.  Winner of the inaugural 2012 USA Invasion series Jeremy knows his way around WA tracks.

Whilst the onslaught will be hard to repeal there are several aussies with a chance of taking it up to the Americans.

Craig Vosbergen has just completed a 17 race tour of the USA where he regularly rubbed wheels with many of the Invading force.

Warren Oldfield our current series champ – always fast but does he have the stamina to keep up with the USA’s best.

Matt Goodlad coming off his best season in 2012 will have a new larger power plant at his disposal.

Jay Cardy and Michael Homes will both bring brand new cars to the Aussies defence.

Brad Blake has purchased a near new 2012 Mastersbilt and should be on pace.
