For long term growth of any division there needs to be a constant stream of newcomers stepping up, ready to have some fun and develop their skills over a period of time.
Being a relative newcomer to the thunder and lightning Late Model division, Jason Bond is one of those drivers and he certainly made quite an impact last year, getting quicker and more consistent each time he hit the track.
“Last year was our first full year in the Pro Dirt series, which was a huge challenge for the team in our #95 BWRC,” says Jason. “We learnt a great deal about the car, and what it takes to run against some of the best drivers in the country.”
One of the great things about Late Models is the willingness of other drivers to step up and help out and in this case Michael Holmes Racing has been a great support for the Jason Bond team in this area.
“The whole team has been great, supporting us to learn about the car,” says Jason. “They supply us with all the latest equipment straight from the Barry Wright Race Car Factory, and Mick is always on hand for his customers with assistance.”
This season the teams plan is to run as many XLI Pro Dirt Series shows as possible, and hopefully be able to travel east to experience an Aussie title. With great long term support from their sponsors in Hosemasters, Allplant Auto Electrics, Expressway Transport, Lubrimaxx Oils and Treblex Industrial, the team is confident of a good run and achieving these aims.
“We believe we have the team and equipment to be able to run consistently in the top 10, and that will be our aim for this season,” Jason finishes. “We are really keen to reward these businesses that support our team by getting the #95 BWRC up to the pointy end.”
