Ken Melvin last Saturday night turned back the clocks at the Perth Motorplex as he raced away to win the first round of the Forma-tel Late Model Winter Development Series for 2017.
Melvin, the father of current Late Model Pro Dirt competitors Morgan and Alec, raced away from the field in the fifteen lap final, holding his line and staying smooth as he continued to build his lead lap after lap and survived a mid race restart to claim the victory.
Regular Pro Dirt competitors Jason Bond and James Batley rounded out the top three.
Others to impress on the night were Clint Marriott and Carl Pickersgill, who put in some great performances in the heats and came fourth and sixth in the feature race respectively.
The next round of the Forma-tel Late Model Winter Development Series for 2017 will be held at Avon Valley Speedway this Saturday.
