Margaret River This Saturday Night
Round seven of the 2012/2013 Hoosier Racing Tire Pro Dirt Late Model Series will be held this Saturday night (December 15th), at the one of the best speedway’s in the South West, Margaret River Speedway.
Margaret River Speedway has hosted the very popular Late Model Sedans many times over the years and a great field has entered for this weekend’s round proudly supported by Glenbrae Hay Trans.
This will be the last round of the series held prior to the start of the Wild West Tour with many drivers looking to find some form at Margaret River.
Heading the nomination list is defending Pro Dirt Series Champion Jamie Oldfield who won the last round of the series at the Perth Motorplex last Saturday night. Jamie Oldfield along with his brother Warren have been the most consistent drivers in the early rounds of the Pro Dirt Series and will be tough to beat this weekend.
Matt Goodlad has shown the potential of his Diversified Contracting Rocket the last couple of rounds and will be a man on a mission at Margaret River to finally put himself in victory lane.
Bunbury’s Brad Blake has had a up and down start to the season with the multiple national champion still looking for his first round win of the season. Blake is currently entering the twilight of his Late Model racing career, with the National Title at Bunbury Speedway in January is set to be his last outing in the class in which he has tasted so much success.
The winner of the Bunbury round of the Pro Dirt Series a fortnight ago, Craig Vosbergen will hopefully return at Margaret River after missing the last round with work commitments.
Michael Holmes in his Ozmine Rocket has been a model of consistency this season with a couple of podium placings already to his name. Holmes will have American Steve Francis driving for him in the upcoming Wild West Tour.
Defending Perth Motorplex track champion Jay Cardy has continued his momentum from last season and drove a great race in the feature race at the last round finishing second to Jamie Oldfield.
Both Clint & Matt Noakes have many years’ experience racing at Margaret River in other sedan classes and will be looking forward to racing in front of their many friends and family this Saturday.
Koran Atkinson showed a lot of speed at the Bunbury round a fortnight ago and seems destined to notch up a big result very soon in his Draime Chev powered Cardy Chassis.
With close to twenty drivers expected to converge on Margaret River Speedway this Saturday Night it promises to be an action packed evening of V8 powered Late Model racing.
Gates open at 3pm with racing getting underway at 5pm.
