Matt Goodlad has almost been around Late Model racing long enough to be called a veteran, but make no mistake, he is still young and just as pumped as ever to climb back into the driver’s seat and claim some good results.

By his own admission last season wasn’t what they had hoped for, but over the off season the team has spent plenty of time preparing themselves to give them the best possible shot this time around.

“Last season was very frustrating,” states Matt.  “We lacked car speed for three quarters of the season and it wasn’t until the last few meetings where we started getting somewhere. Now looking forward, we are really looking forward to a good season after doing updates on our car and implementing a whole new shock package from Brent at Genesis Shocks/Racing Tyres.”

Matt is also thrilled with his sponsorship package for this season, including some new sponsors coming on board in Japanese Trucks Australia and Castle Hill Quality Grain, both of whom Matt cannot thank enough for their support. Street Quick Performance are once again responsible for the power plant while Valvoline have come on board once again as they have for the past ten seasons, support that is greatly appreciated.

“We have lots of new and old support this season,” says Matt. “This is the twelfth year in driving the D&S Crane family owned car and all in all we are looking forward to the new season and the first meeting at Ellenbrook!”

At this stage Matt has committed to running the whole XLI Pro Dirt Series and is also intent on running the Di Candilo Steel City USA Invasion Tour, as well as travelling east to compete in the Australian Title.

A huge schedule has big potential for solid results, so if everything lines up and with a little bit of luck, Matt is sure to be at the pointy end more often than not!
