The 2013 Late Model Development Series, will see the biggest Series calendar to date. There will be 8 race meetings at 3 different winter venues, with Pithara hosting it first ever round of the series at the beginning of July.
The 2013 Late Model Development Series will be officially supported by Lucas Oils. Lucas Oils distributor Brad Ludlow has always been a part of the Development Series and he is happy to once again support the Series and the growth of the Late Model division in WA.
Heading into to its fourth year, the winter Development Series has been extremely successful in helping up and coming drivers to learn driving and set up skills of their Late Models, by the more experienced Late Model drivers and crew chiefs, in a relaxed and controlled environment.
The current LMRA Technical Director Alan Nylander and Ben Ludlow were the driving forces for the birth of the series development in conjunction with the support from the winter run race tracks.
Many drivers have benefitted from the Development Series over the years, with one of the main benefits being the daunting transition of joining the Pro Dirt Series, which is the professionally run series in summer that has the best of the best drivers and teams that are extremely competitive.
One of the new drivers to the Series is Rob Galloway a former AMCA state champion, who is looking forward to returning to Ellenbrook as it is the track he grew up on racing junior sedans. Galloway will be racing his new #93 Late Model which he just recently purchased off last year’s development Series winner Mick Rawcliffe.
Ken McPherson is one of Ellenbrook’s best Street Stock drivers, who will be stepping the pace up this weekend when he gets behind the wheel of the newly crowned Pro Dirt Champion, Warren Oldfield’s Ultra Tune Morley #15 Late Model.
This years Lucas Oils Development Series kicks off at Ellenbrook Speedway 7th April, with many new names to be thrown in to the mix, like Brad Boley, Rob Fraser and Lionel Kirkby who is travelling all the way from Kalgoorlie to compete, as well as some more familiar names that have nominated for the first meeting in the Series, like Ryan Ludlow, David Nylander, Simon McNab and Ian Birt.
