Round 3 of the 2012/2013 Hoosier Racing Tire Pro Dirt Late Model Series ended early last night at the Perth Motorplex with damage to the track’s safety fence during the Sprintcar feature race stopping any chance of the feature race being run for the Late Models.
The third round of the Pro Dirt Late Model Series was originally meant to be held on Saturday November 3rd but heavy rain throughout the weekend meant the promotion team at the Perth Motorplex had no choice but to put off the event until Tuesday night.
The Late Models contested two events on the night with the opening race seeing a fantastic battle for the lead between Warren Oldfield and multiple national champion Brad Blake. Blake just got home for the win ahead of Warren Oldfield with defending Pro Dirt Series Champion Jamie Oldfield charging from the rear of the field to finish third by the end of the race.
Brad Ludlow succumbed to mechanical dramas in his Di Candilo Steel City Dodge during the first race with his brother Ryan Ludlow also joining him on the infield.
Jamie Oldfield made the most of his front row starting position in the second race winning comfortably ahead of defending Perth Motorplex track champion Jay Cardy and Brad Blake who continued his strong night.
David Nylander and Ryan Ludlow had a nasty coming together in the second race of the night with Nylander making heavy contact with the wall and finishing up on his side on the main straight.
Time constraints prevented the final being run after a big crash in the Sprintcar feature race damaged the safety fence.
Attention now turns to Round Four of the 2012/2013 Hoosier Racing Tire Pro Dirt Series to be held at Kalgoorlie Speedway this coming Saturday 10th November
